Day 5 - sniff

Well the convention is over...sniff....Hugs went all around...sniff...and if people haven't hit the road yesterday then majority of them will today with the exception of the few of us who are holding out for another day.
Just like the other two days of C.A. yesterday was amazing...

The day started out with breakfast over at the Student Center in which Professor Snape gave a lecture to a few of us at the table, on who he's not to be shipped with such as Harry, Hermione (sorry all my WIKTT frineds), Remus (thank goodness), Sirius - the comment was that even if it means his life if they don't pair up...he will die immediately, and of coarse Dobby (that's one I never thought of...and a few of you know I can come up with some off the wall ships).

After he was done the AV guy from the university was kind enough to connect us to not only The Leaky Cauldron so we could get caught up on the past day's news (something I've been doing anyway) but also took us to JKR's website so we could see if there were any changes as of yet....in which there were none at the time. Finally when the one session of the day was over we all went back to the Congress Centre for our final luncheon where there were tearful thanks to all and cya's (I don't believe in goodbye) to new friends we all made. (In 2nd pic I'm the one seated in black)
Afterwards I went over to the Arts building where Steve Vander Ark had a presentation "A Muggle's Guide to Wizarding Britain".
As always it was excellent....very interesting, highly amusing and entertaining.

<table Then a few of us even hung around outside the mall not wanting to leave quite yet as we clowned around a bit. . But alas that wasn't able to last forever so once again hugs went around along with hopes to see each other at either Accio (in which I won't be able to be at) or The Witching Hour --- Snape willing (as was quoted by one of my friends when they signed my book).

As others went on to pack and get an early night for a long trip I joined the other volunteers for the Pizza Party where we talked about the pros and cons of the weekend....said more fairwells and made plans for today's trip to Montreal.

Sheryll and Phyllis....this goes to you
<lj-cut>
I'm not someone who's good at words in expressing how I feel about something so I hope you understand what I'm about to say with this.
I came up from Jacksonville, FL not knowing anyone that would be here (other than my sister who not only had other plans but isn't a fan...lowers head in shame). One of the reason's I like to volunteer is to try to get to know people with simular interests and this weekend I believe I did to some point.
I said this before when we were talking but I wanted to put it here as well.
I went to Nimbus last year and although I had a great time I learned some names and faces in which there were so many I'm sorry to say that I don't really think I could put together today. In fact this weekend I recognized a few of the faces from last year and was surprised that a few people recognized me as well.
I've heard it mentioned that Convention Alley was more intimate due to the group size. To me it was more than that...in a way it was almost like a 'family reunion'.
I say this because: For someone that comes from an area where this fandom for people that are well past their teen years is pretty much not only kept behind closed doors but both General and Grownup Meetups are something that has never happened due to lack of interested parties all this...I don't even have the words to express how I felt this weekend other than...I absoutly possitivly loved the whole event and I thank you and the planning committee for putting this together for us.
It was a weekend that not only I will never forget but also makes me look more forward to other conventions in hopes that they will be just as enjoyable.
